The prolific poet John Clare's work was hardly even read for the best part of a century, let alone having been the subject of study and critical comment. However, in the past 70 years a growing community have begun to take Clare's work much more seriously. From time to time we hope here to publish a few essays examining the work of this important and inspirational poet.
